An Afternoon at Middleton Place

Since moving down to Charleston Jason and I have had a blast discovering new places. While the usual spots will never get old, this past weekend we ventured out of the city center to Middleton Place. This national historic landmark is rich with history and overflowing with exquisite foliage from impressive oaks to lush hydrangeas.

First settled in the late 17th century, Middleton Place is home to America's oldest landscaped gardens that are worth the quick ride out of downtown Charleston. In addition to rolling hills and quiet ponds, the property also boasts a lovely home that was built in 1755. This impressive structure now houses a collection of historical artifacts and operates as the properties on site museum.

To suit the almost English like landscape of Middleton Place I paired my Everlane Round Collar Silk Shirt (with the sleeves rolled to keep me cool) with my pale pink silk Banana Republic skirt. To keep my feet comfortable while exploring I wore my perfectly worn-in Cole Haan wingtips and carried my lightweight and hands free LV crossbody.
