FALL CAPSULE MAKEUP

I love capsule dressing each season for a multitude of reasons - most of which being that it streamlines my morning routine and makes getting dressed a breeze. In that same vain, I like to set aside a makeup capsule each season that accomplishes the same thing on the beauty front. For fall, I've put together a small makeup capsule full of some tried and true products - and a few new ones too. I've outlined everything below, along with a talk-through tutorial so you can see me apply everything in real time.

The first step in my routine (after skincare) is base. To achieve a lightweight, but even base I highlight under my eyes, around my nose and a little on my chin with the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat in 2.5. Next, I apply a light layer of my new Alima Pure Satin Matte foundation in Warm 3 with the Eco Tools Powder Brush. I love mineral powder, use it year-round and have tried just about everyone on the market and this is one of the best. I love the color match (it doesn't oxidize on me) and I love how it evens out my skin tone without feeling heavy or looking cakey. Plus, it keeps me shine free without looking too flat.

Next, I move onto my favorite part of every makeup routine - cheeks! For this step I have a selection of 3 products to choose from. First, is the BareMinerals Blush in First Class (a beautiful, natural shade that lasts all day).

Next, I have the BareMinerals Faux Tan (an old favorite that I wear year-round) and the Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder in 03 Natural Brunettes. Last, I have Faux Tan by BareMinerals. I love this color for giving my cheeks the perfect reddy bronze color that I like to wear year-round. I apply these with a few different brushes, but lately I've been reaching for my Bobbi Brown Blush Brush.

Once my cheeks are livened up, I turn to my eyes. This season I'm loving a simple eye look that has lightly groomed brows and no liner or shadow. All I do is tame my brows with Glossier Boy Brow in black, then curl my lashes with my beloved Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler. Next, I top off my lashes with this primer and this mascara. The last step in my routine is lips and for that I love tinted lip balm. My usual go-to from Holistic Science was a little worse for wear so I retired it this season and replaced it with the Burts Bees tinted lip balm in Rose.
