ON MY RADAR | No. 15

Happy Friday! I'm typing this post from Asheville, North Carolina where Jason and I have escaped for a few days for fall foliage and crisp mountain air. We have some hiking, some exploring and of course some eating on our agenda and I can NOT wait! As much as I love being near the water and I don't think I could ever live too far away from the coast, I just adore the mountains and all that comes with them. I'm definitely going to do a little bit of filming while we're here so that you can see the amazing scenery and of course what I'm wearing, but mostly I'm just feeling so lucky to experience a new place. In the meantime, here are some of the things I've been loving this week.

A HIDDEN CHAMBER IN THE GREAT PYRAMID | I love history and all that comes with it so you can imagine my excitement when a group of scientists announced that they discovered a hidden chamber within the Great Pyramid! At the moment they don't know what the chamber contains or if they will uncover newfound artifacts and knowledge but I sure hope they do!

WHEN TO LEAVE A DINNER PARTY | With the holiday season approaching quickly, dinner parties are unavoidable so I found this piece of advice from etiquette expert Thomas Blaikie particularly relevant. In this response to a reader's question, Mr. Blaikie advises that "ideally [you should leave] about 10.30 if the dinner is on a weekday and 11.15 if at a weekend."

THE HISTORY OF THE MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE IN PHOTOS | It's no surprise that I love the holidays and all that comes with them and one of my favorite holiday traditions is watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Surprisingly, I never attended the parade when I lived in the city because it was far too crowded and a nightmare to get there (crowded subways etc) but I never missed it on the television. In advance of this year's parade, I'm loving these photos of past parades.

HOLIDAY CANDLE HUNTING | Now that it's November I'm trying to get a head start on some holiday decorations since we didn't decorate very much last year and are expecting family this year! One of top the things on my list is a festive candle or two to warm up our home and make it smell perfectly welcoming. I've been on the hunt for a while now and haven't made any purchases but I'm very interested in this beauty
