Monday Must-Have: The Classic Sandal

Happy Monday! The weather in Charleston has been absolutely gorgeous.....and warm! This sudden onslaught of hotter temps has pushed sandal season to the forefront of my mind. As a result, today's Monday Must-Have is dedicated to the classic sandal. This summer staple is one that I tend to live in during the never-ending stretch from late May to August so I strive to only buy well-made options that stand the test of time. Below, I have outlined the three styles I gravitate towards for their endless versatility and have linked some of my favorites that are on the market now.

The Heeled Sandals

When I need to dress up during the warmer months I like to avoid heels, but if the occasion calls for nothing else then I reach for my basic, peep-toe, heeled sandals. These staples are in a rich brown color that goes with all my spring/summer colors and are versatile enough to take me through a myriad of different events. I have linked some options similar to my go-to's below in case you're in the market for a pair yourself.

The Low-Heeled Sandal

In my opinion, the low-heeled sandal is the most versatile warm-weather shoe option. Not only are these beauties super comfortable but they can also be worn effortlessly from brunch to afternoon barbecue. When choosing a low-heeled sandal I like to choose heights between 1-2 inches for easy walking with just enough oompf to elevate my look.

The Flat Sandal

The workhorse of summer shoes has to be the flat sandal. A step-up from flip-flops, these super comfy slides are perfect for all but super formal summer events. When it comes to color and composition, I always pick leather and tend to gravitate towards either rich brown, snake skin or white for ultimate versatility.

Until next time!
